Maukie in your files and on your desktop

Have you done this?:

Q: How do I get Maukie on my desktop?
A: We have made a special page for you. It can be found here.

Then you have saved the html page from Maukie.

How to go on from here?
Now you need to save the SWF file from Maukie as well! Follow the instructions of...

Q: I would like to save Maukie to my own files. How can I do that?
A: Here is a link to Maukie. Instead of clicking it to open the page to see Maukie, right-click (with the right button of your mouse!) on the word "Here" and choose 'save target as'. Save it to your files.

Now you have all the files you need! Now what?

Open Notepad on your computer, go to 'File' in your menubar, and click on 'Open' (a little window will pop up).
In the little window go to the directory where you have saved the MaukieXXXX.html, open this html file. If you don't see the file there, click the little bar on the bottom of the little window and choose 'All files'. Now you must be able to open the html file.

Look for the words: <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="http://home.wanadoo.nl/annekebroenink/maukie.swf">
What must be changed? http://www.broenink-art.nl/maukie2.swf.
This must be changed into: the place where you have saved Maukie on your computer.
For instance, if you have saved her in C:\My Documents, the address would be C:\My Documents\maukie.swf
The final code would be:

<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="C:\My Documents\maukie.swf">

Now that you have come so far, it's going to be easy to do it another time! :)

Look for the words: <EMBED src="http://www.broenink-art.nl/maukie2.swf"
Do exactly the same as you did the first time.
The final code will be (for instance):

<EMBED src="C:\My Documents\maukie.swf"

Go to 'File' in your menubar and click 'Save'.

Now you have your OWN Maukie on your OWN computer!
From here you can follow the instructions from the Maukie desktop page.
For your convenience we will repeat it here:

Once you've changed the HTML page on your hard disk, set it as your wallpaper:

* Right-click your desktop and choose Properties
* Choose Browse
* Locate the HTML page (maukieXXXX.html, where XXXX is your screen size)
* Click Open
* Click OK.
